King Work was built on a simple idea — give Adelaide's professionals a beautiful, focused space to do their best work, without the corporate overhead.
Boutique, not bloated.
King Work was founded in 2024 by Bart Wolkowski with a clear vision: create a quiet, peaceful, and genuinely productive workspace in the heart of Adelaide's CBD — one that felt nothing like the noisy, overcrowded coworking chains.
The entire space was completely refurbished from the ground up. Bart commissioned a local feng shui master to ensure the layout, flow, and energy of the office were set up in a harmonious way — creating an environment where focus comes naturally and stress stays at the door.
The finishing touch was a collaboration with South Australian mural artist Julia Townsend (@townsend_julia), who painted the signature murals that now define the King Work aesthetic. Every wall tells a story — and every member gets to work alongside it.
Today, King Work is home to more than 15 member businesses — from freelancers and consultants to startups and established firms — all sharing a space designed around the idea that where you work shapes how you work.

The bold, colourful murals that line the walls of King Work were created by Julia Townsend, a South Australian artist known for her vibrant, large-scale works. Julia's pieces bring energy and personality to the space — a reminder that creativity and productivity are not opposites.
The murals are more than decoration. They are a statement of intent: King Work is a place where ambitious people come to build something meaningful, in a space that reflects that ambition.
